Les Rabat-Joies reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without notice. Changes will take effect as soon as they are published on the website. It is the user’s or client’s responsibility to regularly review the terms to stay informed of any updates. By continuing to use the site or placing an order, you agree to the modified terms.

The user agrees to use the site in compliance with applicable laws and not to use it fraudulently or unethically.

 

Intellectual Property

All elements present on the lesrabatjoies.com website, including but not limited to texts, images, logos, designs, trade names, products, and all other content, are protected under applicable intellectual property laws. These elements remain the exclusive property of Les Rabat-Joies or its licensors, as applicable.

Any reproduction, distribution, modification, transmission, or use of this content, in whole or in part, without prior written authorization from Les Rabat-Joies, is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

 

Governing Law

Any purchase, obligation, or dispute arising from these sales terms, their interpretation, validity, or enforcement will be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec (Canada). The parties agree that any dispute arising from or related to these terms shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the judicial district of the City of Quebec, Quebec, Canada. The parties expressly waive any other jurisdiction or venue that may apply due to their residence or any other factor.

 

Force Majeure

Les Rabat-Joies shall not be held responsible for any failure or delay in fulfilling its obligations due to force majeure. Force majeure refers to any unforeseen, unavoidable, and external event beyond the control of the parties, including but not limited to natural disasters, fires, pandemics, strikes, labor disputes, transportation disruptions, IT or communication system failures, government actions, or shortages of materials or services. In the event of force majeure, the execution of obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event. Les Rabat-Joies commits to taking all reasonable steps to mitigate the impact of the situation.

 

Protection of Personal Information

Les Rabat-Joies is committed to protecting the personal information collected from its customers in accordance with applicable laws, including the Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector. The information collected is used exclusively for order processing, service provision, communication with customers, and enhancing the user experience. This information will never be sold or shared with third parties without consent, except when required by law. Products

Product Availability

Current offers, prices, and item availability may change without notice. As most of our products are made to order, the availability of raw materials from suppliers may cause changes in availability between the time of purchase and production.

Out-of-Stock Items

Certain materials or supplies may be out of stock. If a material or supply is no longer available on the market, a similar alternative will be sought, and the client will be notified by email. At that point, two options will be offered:

1. Wait for the material to become available again*

2. Choose an alternative among similar options.
   If a product remains unavailable for more than 60 days, a credit will be issued in the form of a promo code for a future purchase.
   *Please note that if you choose to wait for the material to become available again, availability, price, and production time cannot be guaranteed.

Accuracy of Information

Each product is presented on the website with a description summarizing its key technical features. While we strive to offer the best products, we reserve the right to revise any inaccurate descriptions and to cancel or refuse any order containing an inaccurate description.

Product Photos

The photos on lesrabatjoies.com are provided for reference only. Certain details, such as fabric or ornament color, may vary. Please review your selections carefully before ordering.

Note that color differences due to screen settings are not considered an error, as fabric colors can vary based on monitor and lighting conditions. Minor variations in patterns, textures, or embellishments do not constitute a defect or nonconformity. These are inherent to the manufacturing process and do not qualify for exchange or refund.

Les Rabat-Joies therefore does not commit to replacing products for these reasons.

 

Gift Cards

Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unauthorized use of a gift card. This card has no value until it is paid for and activated by Les Rabat-Joies. Please treat your card like cash.

The gift card is non-redeemable for cash. If a refund is issued for a purchase partially paid with a gift card, the gift card portion will be refunded as a new gift card.

The value can be checked by contacting Les Rabat-Joies.

The gift card cannot be applied to past purchases. No refund will be issued following the purchase of a gift card.

 

Prices and Promotions

Prices, Currency, and Taxes

Product prices shown on product pages are before taxes and in Canadian dollars (CAD). Prices are valid while supplies last. Shipping fees are not included and are added to the product price based on the total order amount.

Price Changes

Les Rabat-Joies reserves the right to change its prices at any time; however, the price listed on the invoice on the order date will be the only price applicable to the buyer. Price changes do not apply retroactively to confirmed and paid orders. Any unintentional pricing or promotional errors will be corrected and adjusted accordingly.

Additional Charges

The prices listed on lesrabatjoies.com do not include certain additional fees that may apply after order confirmation, such as handling fees, specific taxes, or exceptional charges. If such fees are necessary, the buyer will be informed as soon as possible and may choose to accept the additional fees or cancel the order.

Promotional Codes

Promotional codes may not be combined with other promotions unless otherwise stated. No promotional code is applicable to clearance items.

Clearance Items

Products in the Clearance section are final sale. No exchanges or returns will be accepted.

Disclaimer for Errors

Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible for typographical or display errors related to pricing or promotions. In case of error, we reserve the right to correct or cancel an order before final confirmation.

 

Orders and Satisfaction

Payment

Regular Orders: Les Rabat-Joies requires full payment for products at the time the order is submitted. Once payment is completed, production time is reserved and processing begins.

Regarding gowns (toges): It is possible to pay in two installments. Please contact us for more information on this option.

Government Organizations: Orders placed by government entities requiring merchandise to be delivered prior to payment must be made by purchase order. If the allocated amount for purchasing the product is less than the total invoice, the employee will receive an invoice in their name for the remaining balance. This balance must be paid in order to reserve production time and begin processing. Payment from government organizations must be made within 15 business days of receiving the merchandise.

Corporate Orders: Upon agreement with Les Rabat-Joies, a 50% deposit is required for orders over $2,500 before taxes. Upon receipt of the deposit, production time is reserved and processing begins. The balance is due upon receipt of the completed merchandise.

Unless otherwise stated, any amount owed to Les Rabat-Joies and not paid by the due date will incur interest at the Bank of Canada's prime rate plus 2% per year, calculated daily from the due date until full payment. Payment delays may result in the suspension of services or current orders, without prejudice to other legal remedies available to Les Rabat-Joies.

 

Customization Limits

Each item sold by Les Rabat-Joies has its own limits based on its pattern, product characteristics, and (if applicable) uniform compliance rules. Some customizations or adjustments may be declined if they exceed those limits or compromise product integrity.

By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and accepts these customization limits.

Les Rabat-Joies assumes no responsibility if garments, accessories, or products do not comply with specific regulations or requirements of courts, organizations, or institutions. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that ordered products comply with applicable standards.

 

Order Modification, Cancellation, Exchange or Refund

At Les Rabat-Joies, your satisfaction is our priority. If you are not satisfied with the final product received, please refer to the applicable terms below based on the product type.

Custom Gowns and Other Made-to-Measure Items: To modify or cancel an order, change the cut, design, or fabric, you must contact Les Rabat-Joies by email before 11:59 p.m. on the day of purchase. Note that orders cannot be canceled after the day of purchase, as production begins the same day payment is received, meaning your fabric has been ordered and prepared for cutting according to your unique specifications. Once the product is received, no exchanges or refunds are allowed. If adjustments are required upon receipt, contact Les Rabat-Joies within 30 business days. See the “Alteration Services” section below for more details.

Collars (Rabat) and Other Standard/Ready-to-Wear Garments: To modify or cancel an order, you must contact Les Rabat-Joies by email within a maximum of 5 business days from the date of purchase. After receiving the product, it may be exchanged. Shipping fees will be the customer’s responsibility. No exchange or refund applies if the item includes custom embroidery or is a custom order made to the client's specifications.

Ready-to-Wear Items may be exchanged or refunded within 15 days of receipt. The item must be in perfect condition; otherwise, Les Rabat-Joies reserves the right to deny the exchange or refund.

Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible for any alterations or adjustments made by third parties after product delivery.

Measurements

In-Person

To ensure proper fit and comfort for your made-to-measure garments, the ideal option is to be measured by one of our tailor-advisors. The in-person measurement service guarantees the quality and fit of your garment and includes an adjustment plan if needed. Les Rabat-Joies will not compensate clients who take their own measurements. This service costs $75 before taxes. However, this fee does not apply if multiple clients are ordering gowns or if the order includes a tailored two-piece suit during the measurement session.

Appointments can be canceled without penalty with at least 36 hours' notice. If this notice is not respected, the full appointment fee will be charged.

Remote (Court Garments Only)

Les Rabat-Joies offers remote assistance for taking your own measurements for court garments. To use this service, you must book an appointment and be accompanied by someone you trust. However, the fit guarantee does not apply when the service is provided remotely. This service is free.

Self-Measurements (Court Garments Only)

You may take your own measurements and send them to us. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the final fit. Any necessary adjustments will be at the client’s expense, except in the case of an error on our part. No refunds or exchanges will be issued for garments that do not fit due to inaccurate client-provided measurements.

We recommend updating your measurement file if you have gained or lost weight since your last order or if your in-store measurements are over 12 months old. Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible for physical or morphological changes that occur between the time of measurement and product delivery. It is your responsibility to keep your measurements up to date. If you want to report a slight measurement change for an online order, you must email us before placing the order at info@lesrabatjoies.com or call us. Les Rabat-Joies will not compensate clients for outdated or incorrect measurements provided by the client. Any necessary adjustments will be at the client's expense.

 

Alteration Services (Adjustment Plan)

The first minor alteration service is included within 30 days of receiving the garment. This only applies to garments measured in person by one of our tailor-advisors.

Les Rabat-Joies is responsible for adjustments in the following cases: premature wear, pattern issues, inaccurate measurements taken by one of our advisors, or a result that does not reflect the choices made in the order. These cases may require a complete remake.

Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible for misuse or improper care.

Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible for alterations needed due to weight gain or loss.

Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible if the item is damaged during alterations due to prior damage or wear.

The adjustment plan (whether included or not) must align with what was agreed upon at the time of the order.

For alterations on used products or items made by another supplier, the adjustment plan will follow the amount paid by the client.

Timelines may vary depending on tailor availability and demand.

Shipping

Shipping Method

You may choose in-store pickup with fitting or home delivery. Shipping is usually handled by Purolator. All deliveries will be made to the shipping address provided at checkout. Packages will be shipped according to your instructions, with a required signature for packages valued over $200. If the shipping address changes, it is the customer's responsibility to inform Les Rabat-Joies.

Shipping Fees

Shipping fees may apply for home delivery and vary depending on the destination province. Shipping fees are non-refundable. Unless otherwise agreed in writing with Les Rabat-Joies, all delivery, customs, tax, and other fees are the full responsibility of the customer.

Delivery Countries

Les Rabat-Joies delivers within Canada.
For exceptional cases of shipping outside Canada, the terms below do not apply. Additional fees may be charged.

Production and Delivery Time

• Collars (Rabat): From the date of payment receipt, production time is generally 10 to 15 business days. The Express option offers a production time of 1 to 3 business days. Delivery time and fees are added based on the shipping destination.

• Custom Lawyer Gowns: From the date of payment receipt, production time is generally 15 to 20 business weeks. Delivery time is added based on the destination.

• Custom Judge Gowns: From the date of payment receipt, production time is generally 6 to 8 business weeks. Delivery time is added based on the destination or delivery agreement.

Delivery Date

Shipping dates cannot be guaranteed due to unforeseen natural events and other factors beyond our control, such as staff health or supplier availability. We will do our best to keep you informed so you can receive your garments as soon as possible.

 

Customer Experience

We strive to continuously improve our customers’ shopping experience and to meet the high standards of quality we deliver. Every constructive comment is reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our customer service team at: info@lesrabatjoies.com.

 

Rental

Rental can be canceled up to 2 days before the scheduled shipping date. A $25 administrative cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.

Once the rental has been shipped, no refund is possible, even if the item is not used.

Upon return of the rented item, Les Rabat-Joies reserves the right to determine whether there are damages beyond normal wear. If so, the cost of repairs will be deducted from the security deposit.

You must not clean the item. Cleaning is included in the rental price. Simply return the item—we’ll take care of the rest!

A late fee of $15 per business day will be charged if the item is not returned by the agreed return date.

If the item is not returned within 5 days of the scheduled return date, its full value, along with the late fees, will be charged.

The return date refers to the date the item is handed over for return, not the date it is received at our workshop. You will not be charged for shipping delays or missed deliveries caused by the shipping company if you can provide proof of the shipping date.

Les Rabat-Joies is not responsible for shipping delays. No refund will be issued.

If you pick up your rental but are unable to wear it, no refund or credit will be issued, as the items were reserved for you and unavailable to others.

A fee of $5 per unreturned hanger and $10 per unreturned garment bag will be deducted from the security deposit.

Your items are steamed before shipping and carefully packed. If your item arrives with wrinkles, we suggest hanging it in your bathroom during a hot shower—the steam will help release the wrinkles. Never iron your gown with a traditional iron.

Rented items may appear slightly different from those shown on the website. No refund or credit will be issued for such differences.

If you are renting an item urgently for an upcoming date, please ensure you place your order at least seventy-two (72) business hours before your event to ensure availability.

By paying your rental invoice, you accept the above conditions.
