Maintenance tips
How to Care for Your Court Garments
Your Tabs & Collars
Use a gentle (non-abrasive) soap. Wash on a delicate cycle or handwash using a bar soap (like traditional laundry soap). Hang to air dry. Never use a dryer.
Tip: You may add a laundry stain remover if needed — but only when necessary.
Finally, don’t hesitate to give it a quick press with an iron to keep it looking crisp and fresh! Just be careful not to touch any jewellery or lace, if applicable.
Your robe lining
Our 100% silk lining is a delicate piece that requires care. Use a gentle (non-abrasive) soap. Wash on a delicate cycle or by hand. Hang to air dry. Never use a dryer.
Tip: For the first wash, we recommend setting the color with a little vinegar — especially for darker shades.
Your robe and robe jacket
Your made-to-measure robe by Les Rabat-Joies is made of 100% fine wool. Dry cleaning is the only option.
Never machine wash or tumble dry — this could damage the wool fibres and alter the robe’s structure.
If unwanted wrinkles appear, hang your robe in a slightly humid space (like the bathroom). You may use a steam iron on unstructured areas, but avoid the chest and back panels — doing so could loosen the inner canvas.
For safe pressing, trust your dry cleaner — or give us a call! We’ll be happy to advise you or offer the service at our atelier.
